Pentax 17: An Unexpected Journey into Half-Frame Photography

Since the dawn of time, mankind has pondered the  question: Is half frame enough? 

The biggest obstacle with the Pentax 17 is achieving critical focus (insofar as this is important to you.) By design, the 17 is imprecise in this way and reliant on your ability to judge your subject's focal distance in the field, and then select the closest corresponding focus bucket, crossing your fingers, and hoping everything turns out alright.
